As one of only five UNESCO Cities of Music in the world, Glasgow’s a hotbed of musical creativity and is bursting with gigs and concerts every week in a range of great venues. The city’s newest venue, the SSE Hydro, has been named the third most popular venue in the world by Pollstar, beating even Madison Square Garden!


Glasgow's legendary music scene stretches across a whole variety of musical styles from contemporary and classical to Celtic and Country. Home to both the Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Glasgow has a wealth of musical talent on offer.

As an UNESCO City of Music, Glasgow hosts an average of 130 music events each week in great venues such as the Arches, the legendary King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, the world - class Scottish Exhibition + Conference  Centre, the ever - popular Barrowlands and the Old Fruitmarket , a unique space full of chracter.


September 2013 will see the opening of The SSE Hydro, a new 12,000 seater arena which will play host to a range of top international music stars and major sporting events.
